The common misconception is that IT Consultants always know best when it comes ERP, CRM or similar enterprise software; truth is, in most instances, internal System Admins are more knowledgeable.
Why is that?
Simply put, limits of these applications have been put to test with real life business challenges that weren’t part of the scope when initially implemented. They have managed to find creative ways to draw every piece of value they can get from the software out-of-the-box.
I am extremely proud to join Josh Meiri (Director Business Systems at Zscaler) in his passion for bringing NetSuite customers together to hangout for a few drinks and bites, creating a fun environment in which everyone is free to share their latest tips, tricks and discoveries about the NetSuite platform.
For those who are unfamiliar, NetSuite is a scalable cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software designed for medium and large companies. It can be used to track inventory, keep track of financials, host eCommerce, and more.
In the last NetSuite User Group meetup in our offices in San Francisco, I presented the NetSuite dashboard we built for Customer Service Supervisors at NutriBullet, as well as some creative ways to leverage this out-of-the-box solution.
I co-presented with Dean Dighe (Business Analyst/ NetSuite Admin at NutriBullet). Dean discovered the power of NetSuite dashboard during the Customer Service NetSuite implementation, which led him to take another project on his own to create the product’s 360 degree dashboards — a formulation of imagination and creativity.
In addition, Josh joined us to present a proof of concept on how to send SMS’s from NetSuite Workflows (using Twilio). In our next meetup, we will touch base on the email plugin from NetSuite, commonly used to allow users to approve (or reject) a purchase order or vendor bill by replying to an email notification.
As you can see, we showed quite a few ways to optimize NetSuite ERP very quickly and effectively.
